Advantages and Disadvantages of living in a big city

Do you live in a big city?

if you answer ‘yes’, let’s see what is the positive and negative thing by living in a big city..

check this out in my writing task 🙂

Living in a big city has both advantages and disadvantages. He first thing is about education. In the big city, there are a lot of different schools. So, it’s very easy for people to study. Nowadays, English is very popular. Many people want to study English because English is becoming more and more important. We can find many international schools in a big city.

The second plus side, it is often easier to find work with high salary. With good English speaking skill, we have more choices to work. We can work for some foreign companies easily. You know, in the big city everything is new every day. We may get more chances every day. There is usually a choice of public transport, so we don’t need to own a car. Furthermore, there are a lot of interesting to do and places to see. For example, we can eat in good restaurants, visit the museums, go to the theater and to concerts and there is also easy access to shopping.

What is more, when we want to relax, we can usually find a park where we can feed the ducks or just sit on a park bench and read a book. All in all, city life is full of bustle and variety and we need never feel bored. The next thing is that in the big city, is about health. It is said that we live today and that is one of our happiness because we don’t know what may happen tomorrow and we can say with money we can buy many different things but we can’t buy health. In a big city, there are lots of good hospitals. When we get sick, it takes us a short time to go to the hospital, usually about 5 or 10 minutes. We may get good treatment from the good doctors.

However, for every plus there are minuses. For one thing is about the living expense. People usually say that in the big city we can earn a lot of money easily. I still agree with that idea. We might have a job, but unless it is very well paid, we will not be able to afford many of the things that there are to do, because we have to pay many things such as different taxes, lots of bills every month. So, getting and spending money usually go together. The second thing is about the traffic. In the big city, there are lots of motorbikes and cars. The motorbikes are very messy. So it is very dangerous to ride in the big city. That is why accidents happen every day. And sometimes we have to be late for work even we know the problems. We also can’t get fresh air for breathing because of the pollution. It is particularly difficult to find good, cheap accommodation. What is more, public transport is sometimes crowded and dirty, particularly in the rush hour, and even the parks can become very crowded, especially on Sundays when it seems that every city dweller is looking for some open space and green grass.

Last of all, despite all the crowds, it is still possible to feel very lonely in a city. I am thinking about the neighbourhood in the big city. Actually, people don’t have good relationship here. In the country side, when people get any problems even in the evening or at night, when the neighbours know,  they will be very open – hearted to help or to take the patients to hospitals without any benefit thinking. In the city, the houses are always closed. People always have very safe gates, so that’s why they hardly know together.

In conclusion, I think that city life can be particularly appealing to young people, who like the excitement of the city and don’t mind the noise and pollution. However, many people, when they get older, and particularly when they have young children, often prefer the peace and fresh air of the countryside.

So, what is your comment guys??

NB : maaf kalau bahasa inggrisnya masih belepotan yaa, maklum masih sedang belajar 😀
